stretch. 0 Posted May 1, 2011 Had my alternator fail spectacularly the other day, suspect the fan bit shattered and took one half of the mount clean off. Anyways I was wondering if any other vag models are a straight swap in? Don't want my car off the road too long as it's a daily! Any help appreciated. boost monkey 0 Posted May 1, 2011 well yeah, the other 1.8 16v models like the Mk2 Golf GTi will be a direct swap. TBH, I think most of the other 1.8 engined models are a swap. It's one of those parts which is based on engine size IIRC. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
