Any New Shape Beetle Owners - Dash lights question

Hi

 

Just got ourselves a new shape beetle in the family. Any one on here have one too or know of one that they can check the below out with?

 

I expected the engine management light to come on with ignition switch 1 or 2 to show its working and not been disconnected. But worryingly nothing shows up except the handbrake, battery and oil light iirc .

 

Is this normal, or has the previous owner done something to hide an engine fault light.

My mother in law has a new shape beetle 2.0L W reg I think, her engine light fault is always on. There's nothing wrong with the car as its been checked over and put on vag com and theres no fault codes coming up. Maybe someone must have had the same problem with that and put there cowboy hat on and sorted out themselves.
