Sypher50 0 Posted March 3, 2004 i was wondering if i hook up 4" speakers to the stock built in amps in my door panels will i get double the watts because my head unit puts out 50w per channel and the door amps will amplify the sound as well.... My question i guess is will the amps produce more wattage or should i just take them out and customize 5.25 into the door panels and use the 50 watts from the head unit...i have a 92 vr6 which seems it has different door panels then the rest of the vr6's

dubbprince 0 Posted March 4, 2004 whats the wattage on the amps?? I'm pretty sure if they fit in the door panel..they can't be putting out 50watts!? Why not put some 5.25 components in and have them powered off the unit...if not buy a bigger amp and amp them. I have an alpine set up in mine. head unit is the 9815RB which puts out 60watts per channel, and the amp i have powering the 200watts 6.5" comps in the custom door builds i made, is an older V12 series amp bridged to give out 140watts to each side of the car.
