krishen 2 Posted June 26, 2011 Im not sure if there is something wrong or if its just the way the air flow system is on the corrado but i don't seem to be getting decent air out of the fans. when you turn the heater control to position of the windscreen the air that is coming out the vents (positioned at the front of the dash, below the windscreen) is not very strong. And in fact with the fan on level 4 the force of the air on the passenger side of the vents is barely noticeable. I had a quick look at the actual fan unit from the engine bay side and made sure it wasn't covered in leaves, which it wasn't. Although there was a shed load around it and under the ecu so gave the all a quick clean. Is there something broken or just the way it is?
floppyman 0 Posted June 26, 2011 When you put the air going to the windscreen do you get air going on any other vent? Foot vent? Usualy the flaps inside the heater box start to deteorate... On mine it doesnt matter where I possition the air, I allways get air comming from all the vents lol.
davidwort 0 Posted June 26, 2011 Weak motors, worn seals on the air flaps, plastic flap drive cogs jumped and slipped boden cable sleeves in their securing clips are all a possibility have a look in the wiki/knowledgebase

I close the body vents to try and increase the air flow to the windscreen which makes a slight difference but not much. Is it a dash out job or can these be repaired/replaced in situ?
floppyman 0 Posted June 26, 2011 Depends on what it needs to be repaired... I would start by makinh shure the dial is actually moving the cables. If it is the late model their more prone to braking, does the dial move freely or you feel some tension?

Just reading on the wiki that I may have broken a clip of some sort but I really don't think that's the case. What would you guys say I should do/check first? I had a quick look in the wiki buy there was nothing definitive apart from me having maybe broken a clip.
floppyman 0 Posted June 26, 2011 Yes... Thats probably your problem. The best thing to do is take the heater controlls out and check what is broken and then take it from there, its a bit of work since you need to take out the radio fascia... I thinking you have a late model corrado
krishen 2 Posted June 26, 2011 Yes I have a late model corrado. Will search the wiki to see how to detach the cables from the controls and go from there.
