wearing noise doin head in

Recommended Posts

hi corrado peeps

i have a 94 vr6 for over a year now after seeing mates g60's and loved them

i have changed the front pass side bearing

drivers has been done 1 year ago

drop links done both sides

wishbone bushes both done

problem still is there is a whheeering noise over 40mph that sounds like its the wheel as repeats faster if you go faster

mate has jacked it and gone up to 70mph and still hears it

i had an advisory on the big cog thing that comes out the gearbox

is this the gear box on the way out ?

thanks

Do you have discs with the holes in ?

If so, when your press the brake is the noise louder and then without the brake on, the same noise but less noisy.

A bit of a whoosh sound like air being forced through a gap.

If so, it is your brake disks.

I have had this since putting on new discs with holes and it is driving me insane.

i have dimples and slots in my discs that wernt the most expensive ones ie ebay

it does get louder when breaking but thought it might be the breaking noise aswell

i have spun the wheels jacked up and it does catch the discs as it goes round

make sure the driveshaft nut is done up on the hub to 240-260 nm. mine done that and had wheel bearing drone noise, because i didnt do the nut up tight enough.

Only noticed it when i was getting new tyres put on.
