chris CORRADO 0 Posted March 7, 2004 hey mateys LOL i just got my sunroof working on tuesday and i used i once or twice. as you do BUT now GURRRRRRRR without noticing the paint on the outside of the car ROOF has been badly scratched like major deeep scratches... dammmm thing should have stayed closed.... so my question is how can i remove the sunroof to get it resprayed... cheers Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Henny 0 Posted March 7, 2004 you'll also need to get part of the mechanism repaired as it's this that causes the panel to rub along the inner roof supports and scratch the paint off... :roll: The only way to get the panel out is to remove the complete sunroof mechanism.... Have a look here for instructions on how to fit a moonroof (tells you how to get the old roof out, and fitting it back again is exactly the same as fitting a moon roof... ;) ) Check HERE for details on fixing the broken mechanism... 8) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Henny 0 Posted March 8, 2004 a quick tip I've shamelessly nicked from Kev ( ;) )is to put some sticky backed felt onto the roof strengthening bars when you get the roof out so that if the worst ever happens again, it won't scratch the roof as badly... 8) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
