Supercharged 2 Posted September 6, 2011 This is how they break = plastic goes brittle inside and cracks If you open the switch up you may be able to get the remains out and get the switch working again but a new one is the best way to go - see the group buy! Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 6, 2011 i would remove it asap before it burns out the wiring, thats what happened to mine
owen g60 10 Posted September 6, 2011 mine does this and it turns out it moves itself back into the dash as the clips are wearing out.. would try to pop it out and see if it works outside the dash. i have padded the hole to keep it in the correct position
RW1 0 Posted September 6, 2011 Padding out the body of the switch will prevent it working. The plastic side walls are thin and distort easily. Plus you could cause the internal slider contact plate to slew. Thats when you get a short and you soon know about it with a loom wrecked in a blink of an eye. Put the earth wire fuse in....... . owen g60 10 Posted September 6, 2011 already done the earth wire... is only some thin padding stopping the switch sliding into the dash
