4eyes2wheels 0 Posted September 16, 2011 So I am leaking from the auxilliary water pump and it's booked in for a replacement. I understand that it's a simple and quick job. All good. However, is it one of these cases where I should really get both water pumps done at the same time or is there no good reason to do so? Thanks in advance. RW1 0 Posted September 16, 2011 Why? Is it leaking coolant visibly? Is it making noises? Cooling system on the gauge generally OK? If no, no, yes to these, not worth it to disturb what is working and may go on for a while yet before needing attention. Toohottotrot 10 Posted September 17, 2011 Most people reckon the auxilliary water pump does bugger all anyway. I would replace it if it were me though and it looks a simple job. The main water pump is a different "kettle" of fish and not in the same area even, so it's not as if it's a case of "while it's dismantled." Main pump is a pain as you have to unbolt two engine mounts and lift one side around 2 inches, I reckon I could do one in an hour though. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
