My Corrado G60 K-reg

Hi guys, i'm new on here so i thought i'd pop some pics up of my Corrado G60. Its been off the road since 2005, dry stored, i've owned her since 2004 and just started preping her for the road.

Looks nice. What's you plan of action? Just a good service/brake check etc, or does it need more help?

Well this is what it needs after a good inspection last night -

2 rear calipers (which i have),

2 front wishbones,

rear brake compensator,

3 wiper blades,

2 front wishbone rear studs (as i knicked them a few years ago for my mk 3 golf),

new timing belt, thats just the stuff for the mot.

 

Once its back on the road and run for a bit i want to start making her look nice. Bonnet has the laquer peeling off, a few dents in the N/S door, 2 rust scabs on the O/S door and N/S wing. This is what i've already done -

new front and rear pads + discs,

new front anti-roll bar drop links,

new centre + rear exhaust,

65mm pulley,

performance chip,

i've rebuilt the charger. so something to keep me busy over the winter i spos.

Does anyone know how to find out the production build number of these???

Heres some pics of the charger rebuild before and mid build.

Although i have rebuilt the charger before, i thought it be a good idea to go over my work, as the apex seals were replaced around 2 years ago. New apex seals and oil seals this time. Previously rebuilt by jabba sport around 10k ago.

Looks good. Ia m sure it will come out just super fine.

Man, I wish I could learn to rebuild a G-lader myself. Is it hard? Or any special knowledge or skills?

I wouldnt say its hard, but good knowledge and plenty of patience is a good start. Luckily my charger was in pretty good shape internally. Just having a few running problems with the car at the mo. Have a look around plenty of info on here and on the net about rebuilding the charger. Check matey-matey.com or g-lader.info for an insight.

Did I see this at Boddelwydden castle just before it went off the road ? If I did I'm sure it's my late friends old car.

No sorry it wasnt me at Boddelwydden castle, thanks for the support anyway. Passed on Friday, first time i drove her on the road properly in 7 years. Takes me back to when i first bought her in 2004. Since the mot, she's developed a fueling problem, flat spot then goes like hell. Pulls like a train once the flat spot has cleared. I'll be checking the temp sensor and lambda wiring over the next few days. This is the least of my problems, as she has a 12 month ticket on her lol

Here's some of the latest pics i have of my corrado, tax'd, tested and on the road. Finally sorted my fueling problem, broken vacum pipes at the back of the throttle body. And she bloody flies!! :)

Picking up a new bonnet this week same colour and paint code, original has lacquer peeling on the front edge. Plus some new trim inserts for the roof rails coming to.

So i decided to have a look at my dodgy heater fan today (missing speed 3 and slow running fan). Ordered a new thermal fuse for the resistor, which came today.

First one shows motor with over heated supply and negative lines.

All i need to do is repair the supply and negative lines, reinstal and test.

 

All tested now, working on all 4 speeds and blows good!

Picking up my new bonnet tomorrow, boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, handbrake gaiter are on its way.

Still playing with the idea of fitting an oil cooler kit or fitting a new standard oil cooler/sandwich plate??? Any thoughts?

Done a bit more on her today, pas was a bit stiff at times so i changed the pas fluid and new anti freeze. Fitted new ecu to throttle body vacum pipe and set up the emissions again as the original vacum pipe was about 6cm to short.

Looks like this is turning into a blog, as nobody seems to be bothered to comment, or show any interest.

 

I like to treat my thread as a facility to bolster my service history file. Small steps build up to a bigger picture etc etc. But in the mean time, don't get beat up about the lack of replies as it does seem awfully quiet round here recently. G60's seem to be very popular on the resto front at the moment. Good stuff.
