Julien's G60 Rado - 16v Eaton M90 inside

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

As I couldn't more to ride a MK4 TDI, I decided to buy a rado for 4 months now.

So it's a 91' G60 with 137000Km.

It has all the classical options.

Unfortunately the day I bought it, I had an engine problem.

A very strong rattling came from the bottom and everybody guess the following

The cause was a seal of the compressor that was not in the good place.

Presently there are :

ENGINE :

- 16v gearbox

- JABBA stage 2

- 68mm pulley

- Outlet RS kit

- By-pass group A

- W6DPO

- SKF High Flow water pump

- FPR porsche 944

- VENAIR hoses kit

- KW suspension

INTERIOR :

- HI-SPEC phantom oil temp gauge/oil pressure gauge/compressor pressure gauge

- VR6 Intérior

EXTERIOR :

- VR6 front bumper

- VR6 hood

- Red/Crystal tail light

After a check of the engine, I had to change the crank so I decided to build a 16VG60 but after a moment, Idecided to replace the G60 by a M90 Eaton. I'm still building it and will soon post pictures of the parts...

Here are pics of the car few days before I got it :

Thanks.

I will update it as one goes along

So to check where does the rattling came from exactly I opened the engine block. As you can see, there was so much metal shaving...

As I wanted to do a 16VG60, I decided to buy a 16v KR engine to fully rebuild
