Back in a Corrado at last..

Recommended Posts

Hi guys.

It's been 3 years but I have put a deposit down on another corrado! I should be picking it up this coming weekend, to say I'm excited is an understatement.

It's a VR6 from the 1995 vintage. It has had a recent respray in its original (Schwartz?) black? The previous owner is a gent with very high attention to detail, so all the seals and rubbers were replaced at the same time. New headlights, and fogs/indicator units were also fitted a long with many other pieces of trim.

I'll get some fresh pictures up at the weekend when I pick it up.

Here's some gratuitous pics of my old 16v

A little about me.

My names Bryn, I'm 22 and a mechanic working for a classic Porsche specialist in Essex. We specialise in restorations and race preparation and support for Porsche cars from 1950 to 1975-ish. I'm also a qualified welder/fabricator. I've had VW's since I started driving;

my first car was a mk1 C.

Then I bought a polo coupe (fuel costs being a student.)

Then I owned the red 16v Rado shown above, which I eventually swapped for an 8v gti.

After the car being hit and run I broke it for spares and bought a mk3 VR6

Which pretty much brings us up to date, very excited about the new Corrado and getting to know some of you.

Cheers, Bryn.

Welcome back to Corrado ownership - it looks like a cracker you've bought. Remember to start members gallery when you pick the car up! This is a great forum - a lot more friendly than most - hope you enjoy it.

Black with cream recaros and Audioscape door pods. It doesn't get much better than that. The recaro's look like they were fitted afterwards as the carpets and trim are black (nice contrast with the colours). The VR6 badges are from a mk3 Golf VR6 Highline by the way. Also the head unit is a nice touch as it's in keeping with the look of the car.

It looks lovely and very well cared for in the pics. Have fun :)

Welcome back bryn, Not your typical Essex boy name if you don't mind me saying. One of the main reasons I haven't let my corrado go yet as most people regret selling when they have a good one and soon return. Just having a fling with an R32 at mo. Anyway good to have another Essex boy on the forum. Like above the guys on this forum are fine tuned and well oiled, more friendly and helpful than other forums. Where in Essex are you based mate? Working around porsche's must be a pleasure? Jon

Thanks for the welcomes and kind comments guys. She certainly has been very well looked after :notworthy:

I live near Frinton on sea, right on the coast, but I work near Halstead so I get about a bit

I have certainly been very lucky with the opportunities I have been given at work Jon, it's a great job. Not without it's stresses but very rewarding when it all goes right. I'll post up pictures of some of the events I have been to if anyone would be interested to see them.
