nlau1 0 Posted January 24, 2012 Hey guys, Basically, the heater controls and heater system in my VR6 work perfectly fine, except when I have the direction pointing towards the footwell. The heater still runs and blows but I'm not feeling any hot air at my feet?! Is it just a case of it being an old car and the heaters not being as good as modern cars or is something not right? In all modern cars I've had when I point the hot air at my feet, it gets really warm down in the footwell but in the Corrado I get nothing and half an hour later my feet are still freezing! davidwort 0 Posted January 24, 2012 the flap in the air distribution unit that deflects air to the screen or to your feet is probably bust, or more specifically the bowden cable that operates this may have come off at either end or the heater control connector to this cable is broken, it's also possible that the connector on the flap itself has sheared off, I had to replace a whole distribution unit because of this. take the drivers side undertray out and look at the side of the air distribution unit, there is a small lever about half way up that operates the flap in question, see if the bowden cable is still attached, and you can remove the heater controls to follow that cable to there and check out the connection to the back of the dials. If any of this is broken the flap in question will tend to drop down, shutting off airflow to your feet.
nlau1 0 Posted January 24, 2012 Wow, excellent bit of info there as usual David. I'll have that checked this week but it definitely seems something is broken, I can get the heat to the windscreen and upper air vents fine just nothing to the footwell. Thanks again
