Stonejag 10 Posted February 11, 2012 My sills are totally rotten where they meet the wing, especially on the driver's side (the vertical bolt that holds the wing on just spins freely because it's all corroded away!). Going to get it sorted during my respray this year, but how did you lot approach it? New fabrication or using patch panels cut out of a donor car? I can't see there'd be many with that bit still intact... Stone
Pat_McCrotch 0 Posted February 11, 2012 That particular section is available from Classic parts for a reasonable amount of money (£!00 or so)
DANG60 0 Posted February 12, 2012 Ive just finished doing all the welding on my corrado. On the front of the sill i just used some steel to make some patch panels, i guess it would depend how big the hole is. I priced up the fronts of the sills from vw (obosolete) but i think they were around the 120 quid mark from vw.
Stonejag 10 Posted February 18, 2012 That sounds like a lot...but I'm guessing I have no choice since all potential donor cars will be rotten in the same place. Anybody got the part numbers? I'm guessing it's #11 (535803057A) "side member with reinforcement and welded nut left" and #12 (535803058) "side member with reinforcement and welded nut right" on this pic, is that right? Closest I can find... Stone
