cupra tommy 10 Posted March 21, 2012 Hi, I fitted a new engine into the corrado a couple of weeks ago,and its had a mysterious water leak since,checked all the pipes and clips,to find that its dripping out from between block and head at the back on engine just below the exhaust manifold?? the car runs fine,doesn't seem down on power,doesn't overheat,just leaks water could it just be that headgasket is just starting to go up the spout?? davidwort 0 Posted March 21, 2012 yep, it's probably just seeping from a water gallery to outside the engine, not from the cooling channels into the cylinders or oil galleries, unusual to go like that but possible if the block or head has corrosion from the coolant, usually caused by infrequent changes of old type blue antifreeze/inhibitor or too week strength of additive.
