Flashing temp light

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Bit of a funny one this. Started car up last night, had been sitting for about 10-11 hours or so, turned over fine, no problems. However, the temp light flashed constantly all the way home. I waited for the engine to warm up to about 80, still didn't cut off. The MFA red 10 degress outside temp, so nothing funky there either. The really weird thing is, after turning the engine off, and back on again - it stopped. Has anyone seen this before, or got an idea as to what it might be? I'm hoping it's just an electrical gremlin, and not something more severe.

Thanks in advance

randal

your water level is very slightly too low... 8)

When you started your car, the sensor detected it was low and put on the warning lamp. When you turned the car off, and then back on again after it had been driven, the sensor was now covered again due to the water expanding due to heat...

I'll bet that it'll do it again next time the car is cold, but not the time after once it's warm again... ;)

Yep, it's lunchtime - I'm bored, so it's drop a post *refresh*refresh*refresh :D

Makes sense on the reasoning though. I'm 99% sure the water level was OK, but it's odd on those tanks the min/max marks are like 4mm apart. Talk about picky!

Cheers again

Henny - spot on, filled the water up a squirt before I started the car over this evening - et voila, no flashing light. That or the car just likes running on Evian... 8)

Cheers again
