Eug 0 Posted April 1, 2004 OK who can be the first to tell me: Will a heated leather interior from a '95 VR6 go in a '93 G60 ? I have heard that there are 2 kinds of door card styles. Are these two interchangeable ??? Do the G60's have the wiring/plugs in place to take the heated seats ? Your input most appreciated.
C. Will Corrado G60 2 0 Posted April 1, 2004 If they didn't have them in the first place then no your G60 will not have one. You'll need to buy one and apparently they can be expensive!!! Where did ya get you leather from and how much did you pay?
Eug 0 Posted April 1, 2004 No I've got a VR6 already. Thinking of buying a G60 and swapping interiors. I'm quite attached to my leather - but not to my fuel bill !
Guest Posted April 1, 2004 VRs aren't that bad when compared to G60s mate (fuel wise ;))
Eug 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Mine gets about 22 mpg on average around town. It does have a K&N Induction kit fitted though. But I don't always floor it. I usually drive up to about 3000 rpm. If I reset the MFA on a motorway at about 70 then I get about 30+ mpg.
C. Will Corrado G60 2 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Why do you want a G60?????? Just wack a supercharger on your VR6 and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you've got yourself a very fast motor. Sod the fuel bills...
Henny 0 Posted April 1, 2004 fuel bills between similarly powered G60 and VR6 are as near as dammit identical... :?
Jim 2 Posted April 1, 2004 Yeah, don't expect to see huge savings when swapping down from a VR6 to a G60. I've worked out that I am getting something like 21MPG on my 'around town' trips! I'm getting cheesed off with it already.
jedi-knight83 0 Posted April 1, 2004 hurrar, another mpg thread!. my vr6 does about 22 mpg round town. i got 31 on a 250 round trip to guildford though as for the leathers. yes they will fit in as g60. chances are the g60 door cards will be the earlier spec (with the electric window switches on the actual door card unlike the late ones with the switch on the speaker pod. the door cards will swap over fine and IIRC the connectors are the same dont sell the VR though hoping for a cheap to run G60... they dont exist! Eug 0 Posted April 1, 2004 Cheers guys I think I might just stick with the VR6 in the end. Perhaps remove the K&N induction kit which is probably sucking in much more fuel as well as air.
biggrim 0 Posted April 1, 2004 the connectors are completely different on the door cards for the windows, mirrors and speakers. They will fit but unless you have a late spec wiring loom, expect to get the crimpers out and sort it. It wasn't me who fitted the Storm interior to my G60 so I can't say how easy it is mate but have a bash if you are feeling brave. personallyy, I'd keep the VR
