woody 0 Posted April 5, 2004 Ok getting really fed up with these last two rattles i have. 1. windows - When slightly down they rattle if i touch the window i can feel a slight gap between the window and strip of trim at the door lock end of the door. I asked last time i was at the steelers have much was this piece of trim £100 is there any other way round this. 2. Sunroof - The interior trim panel which moves up and back with the sunroof but when it is in the closed position it rattles like hell. If i put my hand up against it when sunroof is closed the interior panel moves up and drops back down ( about 3mm movement) It does not rattle when the sunroof if slid back and open at the rear. Jim 2 Posted April 5, 2004 The rattling windows is a common problem - there is some kind of clip or guide in the rail which holds the window in place. Its not a 'problem' as such in that the window won't fall out or anything, but it does result in that bloody annoying rattle. I'm sure someone can fill in a few more details, but it would obviously involved taking the door card out and a load of messing around to replace. As for the sunroof.. well.. i'd just be thankful you have a working sunroof! ;)
Henny 0 Posted April 5, 2004 the sunroof rattle is caused by either a missing or broken arm on the mechanism... These arms lift the interior part of the roof up when you tilt it and are part of the week design of the Corrado roof... :| I don't think that there is a lot you can do to cure it... :(

stevemac 0 Posted April 7, 2004 Sorry to hijack this thread but mine makes a really annoying rattle from the dash. Any ideas?? Favourites are: The steering column flap - between the wheel & instrument housing, spring loaded & vibrates sometimes. Cured with a small piece of felt or double sided sticky tape. Loose wiring - find loose wires & stick the spongy wire conduit back around them.

Doing my pass side before the trip to Inters - Jim's right, it will be the clip/retainer on the lifting mechanism.

The Leningrad Cowboy 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Woody, I don't know if you've sorted this yet, but I have similar issues that I'm trying to resolve. However, I did find that the two 10mm bolts at the bottom of the door in the centre (I think they hold the guide rail to the door frame) were loose, and tightening them up certainly made everything more stable. I've not had a chance to drive around yet, but I'll be on the look out for the clip if it isn't sorted.
