When was the "later" type VR6 released ?

Quick question ...

 

When was the "later" type VR6 released - what year/reg ?

 

And what were the major differences ?

I know there were some interior changes like sunroof switch area,

centre console and wider running gear and bonnet.

Yes, the only difference I have noticed between mine ('93) and seanovr's ('95) is a very slightly different electric sunroof switch. That's it.

Its a strange one with the electric sunroof switches, my '93 16v had one with a sort of rocker switch, my '95 vr6 has one with all push buttons, yet ive seen a newer than mine, '95 storm with the same switch my 16v had. :?

maybe it was an optional extra having the push button switch!! :lol:

You can no longer buy the rocker type switch from the dealer. VW changed these to the push button type as they were prone to failure. If you needed a new one it would be a push button switch.
