Rear wheel knocking noise at low speed.

Recommended Posts

Over the jubilee weekend I changed my front disks and pads and fitted new handbrake cables as the old ones were stretched. Since then after a short period of driving there's a metallic knocking/clunking coming from what sounds like the offside rear. The tempo of the noise increases the faster the wheel spins until about 25mph when it stops. The longer I drive for after it starts, the more noticeable it gets. I won't have a chance to get the wheel off and have a look until the weekend so are there any ideas as to what it could be or what to check?

Thanks in advance.

Check the caliper bolts. If loose or missing, the caliper will flap around, making a clunking noise.
