Trilidon 0 Posted April 9, 2004 Is this possible? I'm talking about the one from dub designs. All of the luminescent or what not ones I see usually have white backgrounds. Was it only meant for a later model G60 or something ? The guy I bought the car from put some stupid looking white tach in I have no idea what it looks like normally , have yet to take it out. Henny 0 Posted April 9, 2004 have you got 2 LCD displays on the clocks, or one LCD and mechanical milage counters? I've yet to see any of the mechanical milage counter style backlit dial faces anywhere as most Corrados came with the later twin LCD style dashboard... :| I'm pretty certain that all G60s came with the twin LCD display with electronic milage counter though... However, the backlit displays are american and have different speedo numbering on from the UK spec speedos, so if you buy one, your speedo will always be wrong unless you get it re-calibrated... :? There's a group buy going on HERE for these here which will be the correct markings for UK cars.. it's a bit of a monster thread though! ;)
Trilidon 0 Posted April 9, 2004 My G60 has the mechanical mileage counter.. and I am almost sure one of the pics I saw on there website had a mechanical mileage counter as well with reverse glow they used some 12v converter or something for it. This thing http://www.dubdesignindustries.com/cata ... ucts_id=75 Oh ya im in the states  Either way it seems dub design industries is sold out of them
Henny 0 Posted April 9, 2004 that 12V convertor provides the AC power which the reverse glow dials need to work. You'll also need to buy the gauge faces too which are the actual bits which glow (standard ones don't! ;) ) If I remember correctly, the faces come as a kit with an invertor included... It's probably worth phoning 'em and asking 'em... ;) As long as they do them for the mechanical counter clocks, you're laughing then as they are American spec, they will just fit straight on and have the markings in the correct places too.... 8) Go for it! :)
Trilidon 0 Posted April 9, 2004 so hummm, the ac wont work if I do this =P? Oh man with summer coming up I dunno about that =P Unless I can run the AC in the morning and run that reverse thing at night when its cooler...humm Ya I think I will call them. Henny 0 Posted April 9, 2004 Nah mate, you've got your wires well crossed there! AC = Alternating Current as opposed to the DC (direct current) that the car's electrical system works on from the battery! ;) AC is nothing to do with Air Conditioning in this case, so don't worry, you can still stay cool and have your cool lighting too! ;) 8) All that that convertor does is make the standard car's + and - electrical supply into a nice wave form ~ style current to power the new dials... :) It's really easy to wire in, and won't affect any other parts of your car... 8) Go for it! 8)

IMNOBUG 0 Posted April 14, 2004 If your from the states then talk to Zarman on vwvortex.com, he owns DDi. He is also the person who created the gauges you speak of. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1322945
