Help!! What is this???

Hi All,

 

Looking for a little bit of help if possible? I've just bought a Caddy with a G60 Conversion, I noticed that this piece was taped over, on taking the tape off the black plastic part has a hole that is blowing air, couple of questions, sorry if their silly! ha

 

1. What is it?

2 Should it be blanked off or should it be piped up to something?

Looks to me as though that was part of the pipe work for the carbon cannister. Most G60's have had all this removed as it just has too many places for leaks and to be honest didn't do a geat deal anyway. If the carbon canniter system has been removed, that hole is normally sealed with a blob of araldite or something similar.

Or IIRC you can run a boost gauge off of it?

Thanks John, turns out that's what it was for, there was a boost gauge fitted in the cab and I hadn't even checked if it was working...the t piece that I pictured was broken, must have been why it was taped off....Anyway, I've replaced it and and the boost gauge is now connected up and working.
