Blackberry VR6. - All Red Rear's + Pressed Plates pg2.

Recommended Posts

So after selling up my last VR6 to assist in re-locating to Edinburgh I've ended up straying away from Corrado ownership to try my hand at something newer, a Mk4 20vt... Lasted 2 months before I got bored of it, then purchased a Mk2 GTI. Then having attended the ScottishVAG show and shine, I ended up being tormented by Vardo's VR6 and another mint 20vt conversion that was there. I put the mk2 up for sale that night and started hunting for my 4th Corrado.

Picked up NewbridgeJob's Blackberry VR last Saturday. Now I'm back in the Corrado game!

I was going to hang fire on making this thread until I ended up with Standard lights and how I want to have it but that may be some time as I'm looking to buy back my old Valver for the wee bits and pieces I want for this.

Heres the Mk2 I sold to fund it for the Golf lovers.

Very nice looking C there, though it would look even better if parked against the backdrop in the Golf photo!..

..VR6 badges?!..

Yeah it will have that backdrop as soon as my permit's sorted or I'm taking photo's after 5:30 haha. - and I've just realised I referred to it as a Valver... I'm currently trying to re-home my old Valver so it doesn't go to the scrappys so getting confused haha.

Thanks for the comments guys, and Seafar99 I see you're on here too! Thats your 20vt i'm referring to in my OP haha.

Eyebrow spoiler is away, I'd rather loose the badgeless grill than keep looking at it and picked up two pairs of rear lights today. Just need a badged Grill and original lights then I can get on with the lows and wheels!

I prefer the mk2!

Welcome back though!

yup, I do too at the moment but hopefully by the time I'm done sorting out the C it will be better than the mk2!

New rears and a wee wash ...

A friend of mine pays good money for that.

Anyway, car's looking great! Would be interesting to see in a few months time when you've had some time to impose your own style :)

Wee update. Pressed plates clean up a car so much! Sprayed my lights all-red too apart from the reverse window.

Also, picking up my old valver as soon as I get time to go back up north and its getting stripped and all the good parts stolen, along with coilovers :bigthumbs: and I'm also getting rid of those 17's to make way for some 16's.

Car looks good mate.

I've got a set of standard lights on the way to me and would like to tint the orange half red, what did you use to do this as i've tried before with a spray and it failed massively, the new red was different to the old red..thanks

tint spray on ebay , the new red will never match the old red, you lightley spray the old red lense aswell to match.

if you want a decent finish it should be cleared with a decent 2k clearcoat and that will protect it against UV damage/fade and give a nice plasticy glossy finish.

cars looking good O.P!! also not a fan of 17's on a rado...

Cheers guys. Yeah desperately trying to source some 16's.

I used Savage tint, Look at the Wiki in the Exterior section for a step by step guide on what to do. I did that and the result was spot on. I didn't bother pinstriping the lens's though and i'm just getting LED bulbs sorted.

Not much going on. Got a nail in one of the tyres so bought a Proxie in the right size for £30 and came on an OZ beezer wheel... so running 3 of a kind til I can get the tyre swapped over.

Took some pics of it the other day after a wash because I was in talks of a swap for a G60 but the deal fell though, Not fussed though as I intended on keeping the VR.

Got 288 brakes from a mk4 sitting here, Just need the mk3 discs and i'll get them on. Original lights, Grill, Mint fogs and Indicators, working sunroof, Powerflow Exhaust and AP Coilovers coming this weekend once I pick up and start stripping my old Valver.
