Sun roof issues?

My sun roof us a sod to shut. It goes back fine, but to close you have to repeatedly press the button and the roof moves a mm at a time until its shut.

 

Theres no scratches on the roof and I think the tracks are fine.

 

Could it be the motor? Is this common?

Make shure the tracks are lubed up..... And if you close the sunroof manualy with the key on the motor is it hard?

Remove the courtesy light.. Then theres 2 screws, remove them and remove the cover. Then you will see the sunroff motor, depends on the year but there should be a allen key with like a S shape... Remove it and insert it on the allen bolt somewhere near the motor

Im just not shure if pre face lift have a manual option... Cant remember

Yours will have the manual allen bolt screw.... And the tool, unless someone didnt put it back

First thing like somebody above has said is to make sure the mechanism and rails are well lubricated as friction will put strain on the mechanism and motor. Every time my car goes anywhere near a garage I get them to do this minor job and mine has always worked perfectly
