electric window woes :(

Recommended Posts

hi all,

hope someone can help me out with this.

the eleccy windows on my corrado werent working when i bought the

car and finally got round to looking at them the other day.

after 2 hours moochin through the possible usual suspects of switches, window regs, etc

i had no joy.

started to have a look around the fusebox area and found a brown wire with a white

stripe along it hanging about with wire exposed at the end,and no connector on it.

now,by accident i touched it against the body and my windows flickered into action!

so me,thinking thats the problem sorted attached it to the earthing point(under the drivers

side speaker grille)and thought that was that.

went out to the car the mornin after and flat battery!

so in short when attached my windows work perfectly, but battery then drains

and when not windows dont work but battery is fine.

can anyone shed any light on what this brown/white wire is and where it should go?:scratch

Did you drop the fuse box to see if the connection that should be on the end of the cable is anywhere, It might possibly still be connected behind the fuse board with the other part of the broken cable? I did a complete loom rewire of my VR6 but cant remember where the brown/white wire goes? I will try to remember and get back to you.
