vw_john 10 Posted September 27, 2012 My hids have been flashing/strobing under heavy breaking or acceleration it doesn't look like its tripping onto the high beam it just looks like they are getting brighter, not a small amount either, probably doubly as bright what could be causing this? I need to fix it as it looks aggressive enough when I overtake without the light display! Haha
philipstormy 10 Posted September 27, 2012 Rip out system get a new uprated headlight loom and a set of Osram Nightbreakers!!!!Legal!!!!! Or you could have a loose connection or alternator regulator failing!!!:bonk:
Stonejag 10 Posted September 28, 2012 Is the car leaning back when you overtake and raising the beam pattern? You won't have the self-levelling ability you find in modern headlights if you've just swapped the bulbs over. Rip it out and put something legal in, second vote for better bulbs (I went Philips) as they improve things massively. Stone
vw_john 10 Posted September 28, 2012 I gave all the electrics a wiggle but I cant replicate it stationary, and it's definitely them getting more power. I did have the uprated bulbs, but the output was terrible. Impossible to use at night, like driving with sidelights.

robo22sri 10 Posted October 2, 2012 Might be the switch that has shagged the rely bud ;) take the fuse out for the head lights and then plug it back in
