what is this? 2.0 16v ABF

guys picked up a mk2 golf converted to 2.0 16v ABF and noticed that theres something missing here, whats this for and whats missing? seems to be sucking in air , havnet driven it properly but otherwise seems to be running fine

also anyone know where i can get the flexy hose for the slave cylinder for the 02a gearbox? cant find one anywhere!!

That's the ISV on the ABF, if you take off that cover that's got the HT leads pushed into it, you can see it in all it's glory.

 

Think the pipe you're missing goes to the engine breather, iirc. :scratch:

That looks to be caused by a leaking cam cover gasket (the central part) allowing oil into the spark plug recess, and the oil has emulsified. The cure is to replace the gasket, which means taking off the inlet manifold.
