Jon's 94 Blackberry VR6

Recommended Posts

Quick introduction, I've been in the scene for a while now, am admin on Club Polo and have a 2001 Polo TDi as my daily but always had something else as kind of a weekend toy :D

Had a mk2 scirocco which I dropped a KR 16V from a mk2 golf into and it looked like this:

But it just wasn't fast enough! And wanted a Corrado for a while, with rocco sold to a dubber in NI, managed to find a 140k VR on Pistonheads for £1600 (pics from when I got home)

Bay was what sold it to me, it is really as clean as it looks, electrically and mechanically the car was sorted bar intermittent clock problem and the abs not working, other than that, it was just the bodywork needing attention (wings, bonnet stonechips, the usual)

So got work, replaced the abs module and the clocks which was fun(!)

Also replaced the stabiliser links that snapped on me, along with the passenger CV joint as the link had sliced the boot clean in two when it broke

Then G3'd the bejesus out of it along with a visit to MIJ in Walsall for a cat-back stainless system

Few stickers as is my thing :bonk:

Then set about deciding on wheels for her, as you can see from the rocco, I have a thing for rare/unusual wheels so settled on these

Mk3 Scirocco fanblade replicas in a 16x7.5 flavour :D

Also coupled to a set of FK Coilovers which went on this morning!

Filthy as, bloomin weather!

Left some provision to settle so should look quite tasty! Plus my estate is full of nasty speedbumps! Also looking like I'll be after some 10mm hubcentrics for the back

Comments, ideas, discussions, criticisms all welcome :D

Looking good, rear looks much better with the standard lights, not sure on the rims, they don't look bad, may'be just a bit modern

Lovely paint and shine, not 100% on the wheels but it is nice to see something different and refreshing than the usual bbs rims :)

Update time methinks!

Had a quote for the respray of £800 (with me providing two new front wings and using the old ones to make a repair arch for the drivers side rear)

Bought spare engine cover and got it sprayed up

Then got hold of some 15mm spacers for the back, gave it a lil clean of sorts and went and took some pictures

Never seen a modern rocco wheel on a corrrado before but it looks good. Looks like the design of the spokes on the rocco wheel is designed to draw air into the brake disks like the mclaren SLR

Also like the mk2 rocco pic on your first post looks very retro with them wheels too.

Cheers bud, always done something a bit different/marmite, gotta have a go though really :-D miss that scirocco sometimes, think I'll be getting another at some point it was pretty god-damn awesome, even if most of the time, it was broken in one way or another haha

I saw this at ultimate dubs at the weekend! I believe we were the only 2 blackberry rados there! Interesting wheels.

Think we were tbh, had a good nose round yours on Dubshire, that must be an absolute weapon!

Another pic, this time from Sittin' Dubs, my mates Adam & Jamie, loving the colour on this one :-D
