What's this valve called/do?

Hello help needed!!

 

I've noticed the valve circled below is cracked on my g60. Does anyone know what its called and what it does? Ive noticed on other g60's it either goes the other way (off to the passenger side) or its completely missing

(not my engine bay its far too clean!)
