2.0 16V Rocker Gasket Change

Hi Lads,

 

Just wondering if there is a torque setting for the rocker cover on my car, and if theres any precautions i should take when changing the gasket.

10Nm according to the bently manual. i made a note what the torque was when dissmantling to be safe though.

 

yea, get yourself some of this stuff:

slap it all over your new gasket and you'll never have to touch it again. good to have in your toolbox on standby anyway, especially if the inlet manifold gasket peels apart when you dissmantle that.

And one more thing before reassembly make sure all the metal surfaces are sparkling clean because if there is oily residue on them the rocker gasket could squeeze out between the cover and cylinder head.
