Inaccurate fuel gauge - adjusting sender

Recommended Posts

My fuel gauge never reads full even when it is. I thought I was running on vapours before I filled up today, but it only took 60 litres, despite the gauge being in the white line below the red line.

I have searched and it looks like the in-tank sender is adjustable. Can it be adjusted in-situ without removing the pump? Any idea how to calibrate it, other than just trial and error?

If the variable resistor is worn there might not be much you can do about it, I used a mk3 golf sender and float which are a totally different shape to the corrado one as the tank is different, just bent the arm and with a bit of trial and error it reads just fine :)
