Portent 0 Posted December 16, 2012 I have a spare set of wing mirrors that I want to spray. I have split most of them apart including the black plastic surround. But how do I split apart the main plastic cover from the oval base part that mounts against the body? This is the part that swivels. Do I literally just have to use brute force to pry them apart or is something holding them together?
mcbettermanpj 0 Posted April 18, 2013 Hi did you find a way of taking apart a wing mirror as I have to similar? I have noticed a small screw in mind, im guessing you have to take that out?
paddy26 3 Posted April 19, 2013 I was worried about damaging mine putting them back together after respraying, so i left them together. i removed the 4 screws holding the mirror surround to the metal part of the mirror. I then turned the base to 90degrees so there was minimal contact areas between the mirror and base. \Paddy
