VR fuel filter bracket

Recommended Posts

just changed the fuel filter on my VR.... all gone well so far.... however one of the metal "u shaped brackets" that slides over the plastic filter housing fixing holes has corroded and fallen apart.

are they still available from VW ??? if not what do people use.... or do they use anything.

should I put the filter back without one of these ?

Any idea what they are called ? just spoke to VW and they didn't really know and thought a stop buffer... part number also would help.

VW call them 'speed nuts'. I got a bag of 50 in assorted sizes for £2.50 from my local hardware shop - or you could temporarily nick one off one of your headlights?

Get galvanised ones if you can, VW ones go as rusty as a very rusty thing...
