waski186 10 Posted January 5, 2013 Anybody know why when cooling fan start working , my low rpm going higher? like 1500rpm...it`s corrado g60...usually my rpm without the fan are also higher than 800.
Elliot N 10 Posted January 9, 2013 Hi :) I'm no expert but its usually because when the cooling fan activates it takes power from the battery of the car, which in turn needs to be charged by the alternator which has to generate more power, so it creates a load on the engine (basically the pulley on the alternator is harder to turn the more power that is needed from it) the alternator is connected to the engine via a belt so the engine needs to put more effort in to turn the pulley, the ecu or other sensors detect that the engine is under more load so more RPM is given! I hope that makes sense...although again, I'm no expert!
