randal 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Spent the day washing and waxing the ol' girl - so whats the best thing to do next? Take her out for a rip! Nice warm, sunny day, fairly quiet roads - perfect. Until I hit the A3... ...had it in 2nd about 4-5K, pushed it up to 6 then changed into 3rd... Checked the rear view as I changed lane... ...smoke. Grey smoke, not loads of, but enough to get worried. Pulled it over into the services, and gave it a quick blip - little more smoke. :( Anyways, drove home sensibly checking temps - nothing out of the ordinary, 98-104 degress on the MFA and about 90 on the gauge. I'm thinking it might have been something just getting burnt up in the cyls. I've got a feeling my valve seals are on their way out, so this might explain it. I've also had wynn's hydraulic lifter cleaner in there for a while, and I've just topped up the oil. Don't think it's gonna be the head gasket based on the above - but does anyone have any ideas as to what else it might be? Thanks in advance randal
