Valver 0 Posted April 27, 2004 The only thing to be careful of when using the alloy H&R adapters is to not over-tighten the wheel bolts into the adapter as you can strip the threads ie. steel bolts into alloy threads. I managed to do this on mine  and I know of a few other guys who did the same.....it's easily done! Might be worth getting them heli-coiled first imo..
rmn 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Yeah, my mate stripped the threads on his h&r's ouch!

Valver 0 Posted April 27, 2004 My H&R's have studs in them? are they a revised version? Hmmm....maybe, due to the 'known' problem with stripping threads?...are they new?..
scruffydubbers 0 Posted April 27, 2004 as if it isn't low engouh already.... when i put the wheels on a had to raise the car up quite a lot for wheel clearance, but had a couple of mm shaved of adaptors, so it ll go a little lower, but its proibably not as low as it was. i am using H+R adaptors, the threaded type, had no problems with the threads yet, but after reading this looks like i am gonna have to be careful
