Idlewillkill 10 Posted January 25, 2013 Guys got an issue with my windshield wipers. If I flick the switch from intermittent to speed 1/2 in one movement, the fuse blows. However, if I take my time moving the switch through the positions, the fuse won't blow. Not the end of the world but its rather annoying. Any pointers? Many thanks in advance for any help. Jim Bowen 1 Posted January 25, 2013 Could be the stalk/switch itself, my lights one packed up recently, couldn't work it out and must of been something wrong with the earth part of the switch. I used a £15 ebay one to replace it.
davidwort 0 Posted January 25, 2013 the contacts and moving parts of the switch do wear out, does sound like this rather than a motor issue.
Idlewillkill 10 Posted February 3, 2013 Thank you gents, would appear to have solved the issue with a new stalk. :)
Jim Bowen 1 Posted February 3, 2013 Where did you get it from? Think i'm going to buy one as my other stalk went and my ignition switch worn out, so am expecting the wipers to break soon
Idlewillkill 10 Posted February 3, 2013 Ebay, a second hand unit. Think there are brand new pattern part versions available too? I just prefer genuine parts, even if they are second hand.
