Electronic guys, need your help please (after market RCL and total closure)

Recommended Posts

I've got a right click kit installed for central locking and I'm trying to get the total closure working. I've followed this guide, but my windows don't close:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4361507-Keyless-Entry-For-Corrado...how-to-w-P-P-Kit

I'm convinced the relay isn't wired correctly.

I've got a green wire which comes from the control unit, and provides a signal for 20 seconds, I've also tapped into the power source (assuming US and UK Corrados use the same colour wires) and I have tapped the 'lock signal' wire, all done exactly as per that guide.

I'm not too hot with electronics so any tips on what I can check with a multimeter and how to do so would be ace.

Thanks in advance.

Can you still work the total closure from the door lock?

If you do set your multimeter to volts.

Connect 1 lead to ground and the other lead to the "lock signal" wire.

Work the total closure from the door lock and you should get 12v (or close) on the multimeter.

This will confirm that you have correctly located the lock signal wire.

Then use your multimeter to check that you have 12v in your "power" wire.

Get a spare piece of wire and strip both ends. Connect 1 end to the lock signal wire and hold the other end to the power wire. The total closure should then work.

You can then connect up the relay.

Can you post a pic of the circuit dig on the top of your relay?

If its the same as the relay in the link then:

Connect the 12v power wire to pins 30 and 85

Connect the green wire to 86

Connect the lock signal wire to 87
