markieshero 0 Posted February 16, 2013 Looking for some advice on a non starting 2.0 16v corrado, Basically it started messing about when starting cold, you would turn the key and nothing happened, however if you turned it numerous time it eventually started.... this happened the last 2-3 times I was out cruising around Now it wont start at all, I have ruled out any immobiliser issue by simply switching it out of the loop, however is there any ideas out there...Starter motor? Dizzy-normally would expect the engine to turn over or something but its not doing that...fuses check all ok, the battery is good so not due to lack of power.... Any help greatly appreciated Mark
Supercharged 2 Posted February 16, 2013 You sure the battery is good then if it's not doing anything?? You need to start with a multimeter and / or cleaning connections - if you have some sort of AA cover I'd use it as they are great at looking at this sort if issue. Ralphead 0 Posted February 16, 2013 Have you got voltage at the starter solonoid?
james153 0 Posted February 16, 2013 My bet would be the ignition switch, usually pants on 90s VWs. only about £8 each, but a bugger to change.

markieshero 0 Posted February 17, 2013 Cheers for the suggestions, will check some these suggestions out, thought if ignition switch wasn't working then dash lights, and fuel pump priming wouldn't work but they all seem to be functioning... Mark Nah they all work when the switch goes, it just will only send the pulse to the starter occasionally as the contacts burn out in the plastic.
