Wesleyvr6 10 Posted April 24, 2013 Hi all, can someone please tell me do all vr6's have vented grills or do some of them have partially vented? Reason I ask is I've purchased a grill from eBay that states it's for a vr6 but its not the same as mine! Inbetween the top 2 gaps is blanked off and the bottom gap allows air through, whereas mine allows air between every gap?
Jim Bowen 1 Posted April 24, 2013 I noticed that too, i'm sure it has been mentioned on forum before, but not sure which had it fitted and which didn't
VAG-hag 0 Posted April 24, 2013 mine original one was as you stated mate - top 2 vents blocked
Jim Bowen 1 Posted April 24, 2013 Not sure which i have fitted atm but i wonder if the grill affects running temps much, as i notice a fair few people suffering with a low reading water gauge, i suspect i have fitted the grill with all the vents open. KIPVW 0 Posted April 24, 2013 The solid vent ones were added to later cars 94 onwards and mainly to UK Cars only as it was to assist with getting the running temperature up quicker in winter ;-)
VAG-hag 0 Posted April 24, 2013 mine was a bit warm with the partially closed grill..... saying that I only drive it in summer & I occasionally get carried away = )
KIPVW 0 Posted April 24, 2013 It only really makes a difference in extremely hot weather, and iso marginal, no worries there then :)
Wesleyvr6 10 Posted April 24, 2013 Thanks for all the replies, I'll clean it up and get it fitted then.:-)
