Help!!!

Recommended Posts

Please can anyone help me? I am unable to open the passenger side door on my corrado VR6. I have tried with the key, the fob and from the inside but it will not budge!

I have taken the door card off to get to the locking mechanism but still can't reach the meachanism. It seems as though I need to open the door to get to the mechanism...which I can't do!!

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks Craig

I have put some damage on the door card but it's not completely destroyed. I can hear the central locking working and it's opening everything else apart from the passenger door. It starts to raise the locking door knob but it comes half way up and then back down again. Have pressure tested the vacuum on this and it seems ok. The handle has not broke inside so I don't know what to do next?!

Thanks for trying to help

if your door card is off put your hand up inside and pull the latch down , cant remember how tight it is as when i did my door handles {changed to audi a6} i cut out a massive section for access , but atleast then you should be able to open the door. if you open your drivers door on the side your see the box with the latch mechanism in thats where you want to be feeling but on the passenger side, theres two tabs which poke into the door space one tab opens the door and one tab locks/unlocks , thats the tab you want to be fiddling with..

Thanks for the advice so far. I have managed to open the door but the exterior door handle is broken on the inside. I have bought 2 spare ones from breakers yards but these have had the same fault as mine where there is a small square, galvanised piece near the lock on inside of door handle which is broken/snapped off. This is preventing me from fixing the door.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get an exterior door handle that is not faulty?

Ideally I would rather not replace the specific broken part as I am not that mechanically minded! That's why I wanted to get a complete one if poss. Any ideas?
