joebrent 0 Posted May 12, 2004 Recently if i rev the car over 2k the warning light will flash and sometimes stay on until the revs drop again, the problem is intermitent and has only been doing it recently. Its the light that comes on when the handbrake is on, the car feels absolutley fine though, if it wasnt for the light i would think nothing is wrong! Any ideas?? cheers guys. joebrent 0 Posted May 12, 2004 brake fluid?? I wasnt expecting that!! is that light only for the brakes and the handbrake then??
Henny 0 Posted May 12, 2004 yup... The hand brake light lets you know that there's something going on with the brake system... It lights up when: The handbrake is on The brake fluid is low and on some cars, when the front pads are worn to a certain level and need replacing it will come on when you press the brake peddle Odds are that your brake fluid level is just slightly too low and the vibration from the engine at higher revs is causing the sensor to trigger and put the light on... Second guess would be a sensor wire for the pad wear sensors that has shorted out on something, although this is not as common as low brake fluid... ;) 8)
