tom91 10 Posted July 27, 2013 Hi Bit of a newbie on the site and to a corrado. I got a 1.8 KR and when I bought the car the p/s belt snapped on the way home :( (great start) since then I investigated further and found the water pump pulley was wrong and had been welded up in the center :S the p/s belt had been rubbing on this and split. I replaced that pulley to a genuine one and still the same problem :( anyone got any suggestions what I can do to get to the bottom of this? I seem to remember there are two belt setups on the 1.8 - not sure whether this applies to the Corrado or not - but when I went to VW for a PAS belt for the Golf they gave me the wrong one which was a lot lot smaller.
