The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 The old aeria was knackered so another eBay bargain, £3 delivered I think
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 I bought a good second hand base to replace the original But it turned otut to be a golf one and the fitting on the end is different.
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Tried tackling the sunroof next. It would tilt and slide with the handle but not the motor. After a bit of research on here I decided to have a go with a Mk3 Golf sunroof, only £25 so thought it was worth a go.
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 The profiles were totally different, but I was expecting that.
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 The mechanisms are exactly the same, same mounting points, etc. The only difference is the mechanism for the inside cover, you have to use the golf inside cover with the corrado steel roof. The inside cover will open with the roof, but you have to close it manualy.
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Temporary Euros sunroof
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Sunroof seal was manky So I got a genuine one from main dealer, £65!!
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 After closer inspection of the original sunroof it turns out the issue was only a couple of o-rings. They had worn flat on one side which stopped the mech sliding properly. I'm still looking for repacement ones and then I'll probably stick the original roof back in, I'll always pick genuine/original where I can.
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Golf mech in and working fine on the handle

The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Slid back once on the motor, then stopped :( Now it keeps popping fuses. Tried the original motor, nothing at all. So it looks like I've got two knackered motors, I still haven't sorted this yet, looking for a local company to rebuild one of the motors rather than take a chance with another second hand unit
The Milkman 10 Posted August 4, 2013 Love the Colour- good progress made their mate! Keep it going!! Cheers mate, nearly upto date with the pics. Hopefully next week she's going to a garage to see if we can get the running issues sorted.
