peter 0 Posted May 17, 2004 My VR6 has started misfiring. This normally occurs after about 3 miles of driving. e.g when the engine has warmed up nicely. It never seems to do it when engine is cold. I have had it tested on the diagnostic equipment at the dealer and it does not report any faults. The plugs and leads have been replaced (leads are not OE ones). The dealer says that i need to replace them for genuine leads, cost of around £100, as the next step of action. I am not sure about this as they are new leads anyway! Any one else had a misfiring engine only when it is hot. Could it be coil pack?
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 17, 2004 sounds like coil pack to me too. I was going to say plugs what plugs are you using? bosch FR8LDC by any chance? and are they poxy BBT plug leads ??
peter 0 Posted May 17, 2004 not sure what they are. My local garage supplied and fitted them. I am going to try a new coil pack as I may be able to get hold of a new one at a good price. Hopefully this will cure it
