Jim Bowen 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Finally fitted the uprated headlight loom and now when i turn side lights on, the dipped beam comes on and just stays on when i press switch to 2nd position. Removed the dim dip yellow resistor thing and made no difference. Didn't really worry but i realise i need them for MOT and thats coming up. Did do a search but found nothing so far
g0ldf1ng3r 15 Posted November 21, 2013 who did you buy your loom from Jim? ive fitted 2 of the ones from kur2y & never had any issues. does your loom use OEM connectors or spade type fittings?
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Have you double checked the wiring, what should come on on first click is the small little bulb and then on the second click the main bulb and the small bulb should stay on. I had problems with mine recently and it was corrosion on the relays cleaned up and all good.
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Also have you connected the little spades into the original plug on passenger side and one on the drivers side?

Jim Bowen 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Its a K2urdy loom, bought it ages ago, was a bit more expensive than the normal ones as it has VW connectors to the headlights. All i had to do was connect it to the battery and plug a spade connector into each of the old plugs that get left unplugged from headlights. With the yellow resistor plugged in or out, i got the same problem
Jon_vr6 1 Posted November 21, 2013 Theres 4 spades that need plugging into the pass side headlight plug(original one) and 1 on the drivers side
