Central Locking

Recommended Posts

Morning guys,

I recently purchased a C in which the central locking doesn't work. It has had an alarm removed in the past and there are different keys for each door lock.

Should I start by replacing the CL pump or is there anything else that could be wrong?

Cheers

D

If both door keys fail to energise the CL then it may be the vac pump in the rear offside wheel arch.

you can test it by turning the keys and checking for energised connections on the multi pin connector, they do sometimes die, there's a couple of types on the Corrado,I think pre and post '92

Thanks David. Neither are energising it so I may just fit another pump as I have a spare. No idea how to anything electrical really!

I'm probably preaching to the choir, but I'd look at wires in the front doors 1st. Expect to find breaks in the cables between the doors and the pillars.
