PhatVR6 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Can fires up and idles fine, and runs fine for a mile or so. I can boot it, but only once or twice, then once I've done that, it feels like it's running on 5 cylinders. If I let it cruise a while, and give it part throttle it runs fine, but if I floor it, it'll go onto stuttering again. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump dying, and it can't supply enough flow to sustain high demand? It was whining a lot when I fitted the VR (it' an 8v pump, same as a VR6 one though). but I took it out and agve it a wd40 spray which shut it up. so that leads me to suspect that it's finally dying now. your thoughts before I go buy a new one please. phillvr6 0 Posted May 24, 2004 My pump whined for ages, then finally one journey I found I couldnt rev above 5k about 20 or 30 miles later this dropped to 4k, then 3k and after about 60 or so miles, as I was limping home it, wouldn't rev above about 1500rpm.
