Gareth 0 Posted May 28, 2004 I'm ordering a set of Polyurethane Bushes for my wishbones and anti roll bar. a friend of mine replaced his bushes for polyurethane bushes (On a mkii Golf GTi 16v), and was telling me about the steering feeling strange after the upgrade, the way he solved the problem was to upgrade the steering rack bushes with a polyurethane type. He said the rubber 1 looked fine but still solved the problem. Any 1 had a similar problem and found the solution? Should i order the steering rack bush for my Corrado? Any help welcome :)
colinstubbs 0 Posted May 28, 2004 my 16v had done 120-odd K and the steering was begining to feel 'a shade shabby' changing lanes on the motorway, so i changed the sub frame mounts ( f**k knows how that actually helps, apparently it does, i had the cash, and thought what the f**k) ) and all the front suspension bushes( all powerflex ), at the same time as fitting a vipertech lowering kit (35mm) from Venom  . i didn't do the anti- roll bar, but it still tightened the steering up a treat, it didn't feel 'odd' at all. it does generally feel a little firm (wife moans-in a bad way!!!!! ) but i don't know how much of that is the lowering kit and how much is the bushes!! apparently if you do the rear axle mounts you're better off using oem bushes because you retain the 'passive rear steering' or something! ( i found out after i'd powerflexed them a bit later!!!!!!) hope this helps. i'd fit what you'd planned to, you can always add to it later if it's not quite to your liking, otherwise you may end up spending on stuff you don't need  i've now done 146k and it still feels fine.
