Engine Cover?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have taken off the top plastic cover to polish the top of the engine to get it looking like the second picture. Mine is shown in the first picture, any tips on how to do this properly? Is it relatively easy?

You can either do it with sol-vol auto-sol, and plenty of elbow grease or buy a polishing kit with different polish bars and mops which is done with a electric drill, google it.

I polished a Full Honda CB900 engine casings with the mop and polish way. TBH this does the job a lot better but is a bit time consuming but the results are good.

See pics below of some of the polishing i did.

Bring your polishing gear to the next show, Ray, and you can spend all day polishing manifolds!

You need to sand all the texture off it, i know some people have used a belt sander, i did mine by hand, took ages.

I started with 40grit

You want to end up using 1200-2000wet n dry, then start polishing

Sometimes i think i would prefer it standard and just spray it silver

Unless your cleaning it all the time it ends up like this

Hello Matey, Yes that would be good. Would be different setting a stall up "have rocker cover blinged while you wait" :thumbleft:
