Inlet question?

I was looking under my car yesterday and I noticed that on the underneath of my inlet there was a hole sort of thing with a sort plate thing in it but it was open just wondering if you can tell me if that's ment to be like that and check out the pic to see if I need to do some thing about it cheers

As i said it is the boost return butterfly . Some people remove the boost return pipe work . I have seen a few reasons why people do this .So that the oil spray from the crankcase breather does not directed through the supercharger and keeping charge temps down the hot air that has once been through the charger does not get directed through again . I have an elbow on mine pointing toward the bulkhead , just so if there is any oil present it doesnt get sprayed on to the exhaust manifold .

Ahh right I see, so that could be why I'm getting a drop of oil when I park it at night? Is there any sort of catch tank I could get to stop the oil spraying?
